A not-for-profit community · Brampton, Ontario

No family should face
loss alone.

Dignity Care Society is a caring community providing funeral financial assistance and emotional support — so every member receives a respectful, dignified farewell.

The mutual-assistance idea
~$8
is each member's share when 1,000 members come together for an $8,000 farewell.

When a member passes, the cost is shared equally among the community. You contribute only when there is a loss — never a monthly premium.

A sacred, shared duty

Across many faiths and traditions, caring for one another in times of loss is considered sacred. Whether through service, charity, compassion, or prayer — people have always come together to help families through grief.

How it works

Simple, transparent, and built on trust.

By pooling resources and sharing responsibility, members ease the financial strain that so often accompanies funeral arrangements — letting families focus on remembrance and healing.

To build a compassionate community grounded in dignity and care — ensuring every member receives a dignified farewell, and no family faces loss alone.

About us

A community built on care

Dignity Care Society was established on the belief that every person deserves a dignified, respectful, and affordable farewell. We bring together individuals committed to helping one another through mutual support and shared responsibility.

We are a not-for-profit organization established for the benefit of our members and community, operating under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA), our Articles of Incorporation, and By-laws. A dedicated funeral assistance fund holds all membership contributions, donations, and income — used solely to provide financial assistance, bereavement support, member education, and reasonable administration.

No profits or assets are ever distributed to members, directors, or officers except as permitted by law. Beyond finances, we foster a compassionate community where members find guidance and comfort during times of grief.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Application information: your name, phone, email, city/region, your spouse's name (if provided), and the names and ages of children/dependants you list as beneficiaries.
  • Contact-form information: name, email, phone, and your message.
  • Consents: a record of the agreements you confirm during the application.

We do not collect banking information on this website. When contributions are set up after approval, your bank details are entered directly into our payment partner's secure system and are never stored by the Society.

Why we collect it

  • To review and administer your membership application and family/beneficiary records.
  • To contact you about your application, Society matters, and member death notifications (where you have agreed).
  • To meet our governance and record-keeping obligations as an Ontario not-for-profit.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to operate the Society: with our payment partner (to set up contributions, after approval), and with a funeral service provider chosen by a bereaved family (only the information needed to coordinate assistance). We do not sell or rent your information.

Where it is stored

Application and member records are stored in a secured database hosted in Canada. Our website is served by a content-delivery network that may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) outside Canada; where any service provider processes data outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How we protect it

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and individual accounts for board members and volunteers who administer records. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and then securely destroy it.
